This magical place was created by a couple of restless travelers who, literally, have gone to the ends of the earth to bring their guests the best of old and new, ingenuity, art and comfort. With their own hands, your hosts have transformed a 100-year old town home into a warm and wonderful guesthouse, where weathered wood walls set off photos of places they've been, from Alaska's mountains to Patagonia's ranches and Antarctica's snowscapes.
Tragaluz is named for the skylight that rises over the entrance to the great room, where guests plan their adventures over breakfast and relax when they return. Whether your Patagonian visit includes trekking in the vast Torres del Paine National Park, exploring the remote corners of Tierra del Fuego or a rejuvenating stay at an estancia-a working sheep ranch-you'll find Tragaluz to be the perfect place to call home in Punta Arenas.
At Tragaluz, we're happy to offer advice (in Spanish, English or charades and hand signs) for exploring our town's social history by walking the tree-lined paths of the magnificent cemetery, for visiting the Magellanic penguin colonies, or for finding the best local places to tour, shop and dine.
